Superior Water Service has been manufacturing and pioneering in the
water treatment field since 1950.
From the beginning, the Superior name has meant quality design and
A family-run company, Frank Kratzer, a pioneer in the industry and the
founder of Superior Water Service, had numerous patents on a variety
of treatment systems with a multitude of applications.
1960 Superior Water Service
develops the "ultimate" product line concept.
1963 Superior Water Service adds
25 new dealers in the states of California and Arizona.
1965 Superior purchases a larger
facility, but never leaves the City of Gardena, California.
Superior Water Service develops it's own propriety valve.
1970 Superior begins expanding
it's dealer programs into Nevada, Oregon, Washington and Utah.
1972 Superior obtains C-55 Water
Conditioning Contractor's License from the State of California.
David Kratzer obtains C-36 Plumbing License from the State of
California and Frank Kratzer earns "Pioneer Award" from the Pacific
Water Conditioning Association for his contributions to the founding
and early growth of the Water Conditioning Industry in the Western
Region of the United States.
Superior Water Service becomes a member of the Water Quality
1980 Dealers are being developed in the International
market as well as growth in the U.S. market.
1990 Frank Kratzer passes away. He
was one of the founding fathers of the water industry. Frank was known
as an honest, caring and loving man. David Kratzer becomes
President of Superior Water Service.
1993 David Kratzer is honored with
the "Builder Award," recognition from the Water Quality Association of
the United States.
David Kratzer is presented the "Marino L. Pomarres Award" from
exceptional dedication in public relations by the Pacific Water
1995 Superior Water Service is
elected into the World Assembly Division of the Water Quality
Superior Water Service celebrates 50 years in the Water Treatment
David Kratzer is listed as an Honored Professional in the nation wide
register of Who's Who in Executives and Businesses.
International Dealers are established in Jordan, Egypt, Kuwait,
Turkey, Africa and China.
2001 Superior Water Service is
asked to join the South Bay Economic Development Partnership.
Superior Water Service is recognized for outstanding achievement in
the New Millennium Growth Incentive Program by Pentair Water
Superior joins the American Water Works Association.
Superior is recognized for Outstanding Sales and Service of Autotrol
David Kratzer introduces new Dealer Advantage Programs.
David Kratzer is featured in the International Water Conditioning and
